Tolerance in Islam

Forgiveness and rising above grudges are the traits of the strong; they fill the heart with serenity and elevate a person who responds to wrongdoing with kindness. This draws inspiration from the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) counsel to Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him): “O Uqbah! Reconnect with those who cut you off, give to those who withhold from you, and forgive those who wrong you.” Thus, this counsel remains a supreme beacon of chivalry and purity of heart.
