Pakistan to host international conference on girls’ education in Muslim societies tomorrow
The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Pakistan is hosting the International Conference on Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies in Islamabad from January 11-12, with the participation of over 150 prominent international figures including ministers, ambassadors, scholars and academics from 44 Muslim and friendly countries, and representatives of international organizations including UNESCO, UNICEF and the World Bank. The international conference aims to address the challenges and opportunities in advancing girls’ education across Muslim communities around the world.
A press release issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, said that the conference will provide an ideal platform for high-level discussions and collaboration.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the conference and deliver the keynote address at the opening session. Speakers will highlight transformative success stories and showcase innovative approaches to advancing equality in education.
The conference will conclude with a formal signing ceremony of the Islamabad Declaration, which outlines the shared commitment of the Muslim community to empower girls through education, paving the way for comprehensive and sustainable educational reforms, and a brighter future for generations to come.
