On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques .. the Deputy Emir of Makkah Region is honored to wash the Holy Kaaba.
On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, was honored on Thursday, the fifteenth of Muharram, by washing the Holy Kaaba. This annual tradition reflects the Saudi leadership’s care for the Two Holy Mosques and their sanctities.
Upon his arrival at the Grand Mosque, His Highness washed the interior of the Holy Kaaba with Zamzam water mixed with rose water. The process of washing the interior walls of the Kaaba was carried out using pieces of cloth soaked in the scented mixture, which was prepared in advance under the supervision of the General Presidency for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
Washing the Kaaba is an annual tradition that the Saudi leadership is keen to maintain, affirming the sacred House’s status in the hearts of Muslims and expressing the great care the state—may God glorify it—gives to the Two Holy Mosques and their service.
