The garment industry flourished, and Muslims were familiar with dozens of garments, such as the izar (loincloth), qamis (shirt), abaya (cloak), qaba (robe), kaftan (caftan), jubbah (robe), turban, and burnous (burnous), in addition to women’s clothing, headbands, scarves, and shawls.”
