The International Council of the Islamic World “WCTIW” welcomes the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a resolution submitted by the Kingdom of Norway in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The World Council of the Muslim World “WCTIW” welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a resolution submitted by the Kingdom of Norway in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a number of countries, requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice regarding Israel’s obligations related to the activities of the United Nations and other countries in favor of the Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“WCTIW” noted that the adoption of this resolution clearly reflects the international consensus to support and assist the Palestinian people in facing the challenges they are going through, and their legitimate right to self-determination and building their independent state in accordance with what was stipulated in the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.

“WCTIW” appreciated the positions of the countries supporting the resolution, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which harnessed all its political, economic and diplomatic capabilities to serve the Palestinian people and support their just cause.
